DIRECTIONS

We will meet outside the Metro Tuileries, just inside the gates of the gardens. About five minutes before the start of class, we will walk over to the two tree groves closer to the Louvre on either side of the mini Arc de Triomphe. So be sure to arrive in plenty of time to get checked in and walk over with the group. For those arriving late, come find us there!
This class will be held on the tree grove on the LEFT(looking at the Louvre).

CLASS CANCELLATION

- BAD WEATHER

This class is subject to cancellation depending on weather conditions. If the teacher deems the conditions or forecast unsafe or too disagreeable then the class will be cancelled 2 hours or more before the start time. An auto-email will be sent out to students and credit will be restored to accounts. Please check the schedule on days where the weather forecast looks questionable.

This increasingly popular exercise regime incorporates the precision of Pilates with the positions, moves, grace and technique of ballet. Add to this the alignment of yoga and the strength from sports conditioning and you will have all of the aspects of a typical Barre workout. The combined elements of the different methods fuse to form a challenging and exciting workout, which stretches and sculpts the muscles, whilst burning fat. Balance, strength, stamina, power, flexibility and motor control all improve. This workout produces dramatic results that sculpt and redefine the entire body, without even being a dancer.

The result is a body that is realigned, rebalanced and works harmoniously and efficiently. This workout is suitable for every-body as various adaptations are given throughout the class to suit the abilities of all students.

A fun way to improve your physical fitness with dance moves from different kinds of styles, mostly varying from salsa, merengue, dancehall and hip hop. Mandatory in the classes is: shake your bum and have lots of fun! The dance level varies from easy to challenging steps, so anyone can join.
This class is taught in English, please ask your teacher is you need any help understanding!

Dynamic Flow Vinyasa is a high-intensity class geared towards building heat, detoxing the body, exploring personal limits, and letting the body sweat!  Each class will focus on a varying theme including opening the heart & backbends, hips & twists, full body flow, or a sequence for inversions & arm balances... just to name a few.  As the class is structured around traditional Vinyasa technique, special attention will be given to the fluid transition between each posture allowing for a vibrant and intimate connection to the self. 
This class is taught in English, some of our teachers do speak French, don't hesitate to ask if you need help understanding.

Hatha yoga style incorporates a series of isolated / static postures that are held for between 30sec and 3mins with rests in between. This style of class always incorporates deep relaxation and breathing exercises in addition to the practice of yoga asanas / postures. The slower pace also allows for a more concentrated focus of proper body alignment in each pose. This is an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the traditional postures that are used in a more fluid Vinyasa class.
This class is held in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

This class is for those who are wishing to progress their yoga practice on a more advanced level. The intermediate level offering will follow a similar format as our 'All Levels' Vinyasa Flow classes, but will include a series of more advanced postures, shorter breaks in between sequences, and for those who are hoping to attend on a regular basis, an element of progression.

The class is suitable for all who have been practicing yoga for a substantial period of time, feel confident about the basic yoga techniques, and would like to challenge themselves further.

The class will include less verbal descriptions of how to get into postures but rather more guidance on how to perfect and progress them once you are holding and transitioning through the asanas.
This class is held in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

CLASS LEVEL

This class is specifically intended for the well practiced yogi.  Don't be intimidated if you feel you have a solid understanding of the postures and would like to step it up a notch.  We just don't want anyone to walk into their first yoga class and think that it's not for them.  If you would like a more foundation building class, almost all of our other offerings are aimed toward being 'All Level' or designated as 'Beginner/Improver'.

This will be predominantly a fitness-style class with some yoga moves included to increase its effectiveness.
This class is for those who like to mix their yoga with a more intense style workout while being active outdoors.
• If you are keen to shed unwanted weight and get fit and strong
• If you enjoy being outside and not afraid to get a little dirty and muddy once in a while
• If you like the feeling of the positive rush of endorphins through the body
- this class is for you!!

Its main focus is fat burning and toning of all muscle groups to make you feel lean and confident.

You don't have to be super fit to participate - all levels welcome. This class is designed in such a way that can be adopted to each individual ability without affecting the group. If you are starting on your journey to better fitness or are already very sporty and want to increase your performance by cross training, this class will be equally beneficial in getting you to your goal.

The class will be a mix of 3 types of activities:

1) Bodyweight Resistance Training - Exercises that are designed to engage maximum number of muscles in one movement, and mimic your natural functional movement patterns and hence develop your strength and fitness that would be useful in improving your quality of life (as opposed to isolated gym equipment exercises that only work on a few muscles at a time and often make you work in superficial range of motion that is rarely utilised in your day-to-day life.)

2) Yoga Postures and Sequences - Performed in between the resistance training moves to work the muscles in a static way (which increases blood flow to that particular muscle). By bringing more nutrient-rich oxygenated blood to the area, we will promote faster muscular development, moreover, the nature of most yoga moves brings a more balanced development to all the muscles trained during the workout.

3) Cardiovascular Interval Training - designed to improve your heart-centered fitness as well as increase your body's fat burning capability during, and even after your workout. This will involve running, jumping, skipping, kick boxing and other fun activities

To increase its effectiveness even further by keeping your muscles and joints supple, - the class will start and finish with a yoga warm up and cool down and deep guided relaxation (weather permitting) to help you regenerate and become stronger faster.

This Hatha Flow class will focus on the breath, proper alignment of postures, and simple, yet dynamic transitions to strengthen the physical body and calm the mind. Intensely focused postures with modifications for every level, and a deeply relaxing cool-down will be offered. This class could be considered the merging point between the traditional Hatha (static) and Vinyasa (fluid) offerings.
This class is taught in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

For these outdoor summer classes, it is important to be on time to meet the group and travel to the practice space.

Nearest metro: Line 8: Lourmel (8 minutes walking). Or Line 10 : Javel/André Citroen (10 minutes walking).

As our indoor locations are closed during summer vacation, we will be practicing outside at Park Andre Citroen. The meeting point is in the middle of the park next to the Ballon Generali- a big balloon attached to a rope which is very easy to spot.

Hatha yoga style incorporates a series of isolated / static postures that are held for between 30sec and 3mins with rests in between. This style of class always incorporates deep relaxation and breathing exercises in addition to the practice of yoga asanas / postures. The slower pace also allows for a more concentrated focus of proper body alignment in each pose. This is an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the traditional postures that are used in a more fluid Vinyasa class.

This class is for those who are wishing to progress their yoga practice on a more advanced level. The intermediate level offering will follow a similar format as our 'All Levels' Vinyasa Flow classes, but will include a series of more advanced postures, shorter breaks in between sequences, and for those who are hoping to attend on a regular basis, an element of progression.

The class is suitable for all who have been practicing yoga for a substantial period of time, feel confident about the basic yoga techniques, and would like to challenge themselves further.

The class will include less verbal descriptions of how to get into postures but rather more guidance on how to perfect and progress them once you are holding and transitioning through the asanas.
This class is taught in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

CLASS LEVEL

This class is specifically intended for the well practiced yogi. Don't be intimidated if you feel you have a solid understanding of the postures and would like to step it up a notch. We just don't want anyone to walk into their first yoga class and think that it's not for them. If you would like a more foundation building class, almost all of our other offerings are aimed toward being 'All Level' or designated as 'Beginner/Improver'.

Kundalini Yoga consists of active and passive asana-based kriyas (exercises), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditations which target the whole body system (nervous system, glands, mental faculties, chakras) to develop awareness, consciousness and spiritual strength. Kundalini Yoga is a yoga that uses the angles of the body through alignment to allow for maximum flow of energy from the base of the spine to the crown of the head (Also known as the chakra system). Each Kundalini class includes a warm-up, dynamic movement, relaxation and meditation. The physical practice and meditation of the class are to prepare the body for the flow of Kundalini energy.

For these outdoor summer classes, it is important to be on time to meet the group and travel to the practice space.

Nearest metro: Line 8: Lourmel (8 minutes walking). Or Line 10 : Javel/André Citroen (10 minutes walking).

As our indoor locations are closed during summer vacation, we will be practicing outside at Park Andre Citroen. The meeting point is in the middle of the park next to the Ballon Generali- a big balloon attached to a rope which is very easy to spot.

The second half of the practice will be Yin based yoga, enabling the body and mind to wind down, in preparation for the weekend.

While yoga has many very beneficial health effects, we want to know how to best work with each of our student’s individual restrictions. Please consult a doctor if you have any personal concerns about practicing yoga.
 

The purpose of a Vinyasa class is to link the traditional yoga asanas / postures together into a harmonious flow of transitioning positions while giving focus to active meditation. This could be considered a more 'active' class than our Hatha offerings.  It is dynamic yet soft in nature, and relaxation is often reserved to the end of the session. The sequence of postures will vary from class to class, building on the fluid transitions of core asanas to develop strength, flexibility, balance and focus.
This class is in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

Le but d'un cours de Vinyasa est de relier les asanas traditionnels/postures ensemble dans un flux harmonieux, tout en donnant l'accent à la méditation active. Cela pourrait être considéré comme un cours plus «actif» que nos cours de Hatha. Il est dynamique mais doux en nature, et la détente est souvent réservé à la fin de la session. La séquence de postures varie d'un cours à l’autre travaillant sur les transitions fluides d'asanas de base pour développer de la force, de la souplesse, de l'équilibre et de la concentration. Le cours est en anglais mais n'hésitez pas à demander des précisions au prof. Le cours est ouvert à tous, apportez votre tapis de yoga ou une serviette.

WHAT TO WEAR

-Comfortable clothes that don't restrict movement
-This class is generally practiced barefoot

*Showers and designated changing facilities available only at Studio Bleu in 75009; all other indoor locations have restroom facilities available for changing.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

-Mat or towel (there are no mats available to borrow in the spaces)
-Water Bottle
-Optional - Yoga props - blocks, straps, cushions, etc

Mats can be delivered to our classes in the locations in 75001 (St. Roch), 75015 5Etienne Pernet) and 75009 (Studio Bleu). Once ordered, email support@affordableyogafitness.com, and let us know during which class and at which location you would like to pick up your mat. Please bring your receipt to the class. In some cases a few days notice may be needed to make sure the mat is at the class, so we appreciate your patience if and when this happens.

CLASS LEVEL

This class is open to every level of practitioner from beginners on up. Our instructors give careful guidance to ensure that everyone is comfortable in the foundation of the posture, and modifications to increase or decrease the intensity of each position will be available. Feel free to ask for modifications.

*Please note that there is limited mobile phone reception at the studios. If you need to contact the instructor, please do so at least 20 minute before the start of class. Since our teachers will be busy checking in students with their personal smartphones starting 15 minutes before class, please send a text as opposed to calling as they will most likely not be able to take a call. No communication will be possible after the start time of class.
