French Speaking
Hanna Rydén is an international yoga teacher and journalist with roots in Sweden.
She is currently based in Paris, where she is the European correspondent for the Swedish daily newspaper Göteborgs-Posten (www.gp.se). She also writes for Scandinavia's largest yoga magazine Yoga för Dig (www.yogafordig.nu).
Before Paris, she was living in India for 2,5 years where she was teaching yoga and freelancing as a journalist. She did her yoga training in India and Sweden.
Her yoga is based on classical hatha yoga and allows everyone to participate. Sometimes the lessons will be more with flow, other times there will be more influence of kundalini and yin yoga. Everything depends of the energy in the room!
The key words in her teaching are allowance, joy and warmth.
Hanna does not currently teach any regular classes with us.


Hanna instructs the following:
  • Outdoor Hatha Flow Yoga 60min - Parc Andre Citroen
  • This Hatha Flow class will focus on the breath, proper alignment of postures, and simple, yet dynamic transitions to strengthen the physical body and calm the mind. Intensely focused postures with modifications for every level, and a deeply relaxing cool-down will be offered. This class could be considered the merging point between the traditional Hatha (static) and Vinyasa (fluid) offerings.
    This class is taught in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

    Dans les cours de Hatha Flow, on se concentre sur la respiration et l'alignement avec des transitions simples mais dynamiques pour renforcer le corps et calmer l'esprit. Ce style est entre le Hatha (statique) et le Vinyasa (dynamique). Ouvert à tous avec une profonde relaxation à la fin. Prenez votre tapis de yoga ou une serviette. Le cours est pratiqué pieds nus.

    DIRECTIONS

    For these outdoor summer classes, it is important to be on time to meet the group and travel to the practice space.

    Nearest metro: Line 8: Lourmel (8 minutes walking). Or Line 10 : Javel/André Citroen (10 minutes walking).

    As our indoor locations are closed during summer vacation, we will be practicing outside at Park Andre Citroen. The meeting point is in the middle of the park next to the Ballon Generali- a big balloon attached to a rope which is very easy to spot.

    If for some reason you are running late, find the group of yogis on the lawns!

    *If you need to contact the instructor, please do so at least 20 minute before the start of class. As our teachers will be busy checking in students with their personal smartphones 15 minutes before class, please text as opposed to calling as they will most likely not be able to take a call. No communication will be possible after the start of class.

    CLASS CANCELLATION
    - BAD WEATHER

    This class is subject to cancellation depending on weather conditions. If the teacher deems the conditions or forecast unsafe or too disagreeable then the class will be cancelled 2 hours or more before the start time. An auto-email will be sent out to students and credit will be restored to accounts. Please check the schedule on days where the weather forecast looks questionable.
    -Low Attendance

    Classes with 4 or less students will be cancelled 2 hours before the start of the class. An auto-email will be sent out and credit restored to accounts.

    WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING

    - This class is practiced barefoot
    - Please wear comfortable clothes
    - Water Bottle
    - Yoga mat or Towel

    CHANGING FACILITIES

    As we will be practicing outdoors, there are no dedicated changing facilities. If it is possible, please come changed into your exercise clothes.

    HEALTH SCREENING

    Please notify your instructor if you have undergone any recent surgeries or are currently experiencing any physical injuries. While yoga has many very beneficial health effects, we want to know how to best work with each of our student’s individual restrictions. Please consult a doctor if you have any personal concerns about practicing this type of physical fitness.
     

  • Hatha Yoga - 90min

  • Hatha yoga style incorporates a series of isolated / static postures that are held for between 30sec and 3mins with rests in between. This style of class always incorporates deep relaxation and breathing exercises in addition to the practice of yoga asanas / postures. The slower pace also allows for a more concentrated focus of proper body alignment in each pose. This is an excellent opportunity to become familiar with the traditional postures that are used in a more fluid Vinyasa class.
    This class is held in English, most of our teachers do speak come French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

    Le yoga Hatha intègre une série de postures tenues pour entre 30sec et 3mn. On utilise des postures de "repos" entre chaque asana. Ce style de cours incorpore toujours une profonde relaxation et des exercices de respiration, en plus de la pratique du yoga asanas / postures. Le rythme plus lent permet également une approche plus concentrée d'alignement du corps dans chaque pose. Ceci est une excellente occasion de se familiariser avec les postures traditionnelles qui sont utilisées dans les cours de Vinyasa qui est plus rapide.
    Ce cours est en français. Si ce n'est pas votre langue maternelle, n'hésitez pas à demander des précisions au professeur. Apportez votre tapis de yoga ou une serviette.

    WHAT TO WEAR

    -Comfortable clothes that don't restrict movement
    -This class is generally practiced barefoot

    *Showers and designated changing facilities available only at Studio Bleu in 75009; all other indoor locations have restroom facilities available for changing.

    WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

    -Mat or towel (there are no mats available to borrow in the spaces)
    -Water Bottle
    -Optional - Yoga props - blocks, straps, cushions, etc

    Mats can be delivered to our classes in the locations in 75001 (St. Roch); 75015 (Etienne Pernet) and 75009 (Studio Bleu). Once ordered, email support@affordableyogafitness.com, and let us know during which class and at which location you would like to pick up your mat. Please bring your receipt to the class. In some cases a few days notice may be needed to make sure the mat is at the class, so we appreciate your patience if and when this happens.

    CLASS LEVEL

    This class is open to every level of practitioner from beginners on up. Our instructors give careful guidance to ensure that everyone is comfortable in the foundation of the posture, and modifications to increase or decrease the intensity of each position will be available. Feel free to ask for modifications.
