Julia

Iuliia Sotnyk comes to Paris from Ukraine. A student at Rick Odums Institut in Paris, she arrived in 2014.

A graduate from Kirovograd state pedagogical university in Ukraine, Iuliia also attended Norwegian College of Dance in Oslo in 2011.  She holds degrees from both Universities.  

She dances ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz. She has also been an active dancer in Sport dance (disco, disco-freestyle, hip-hop, dance show) and has participated in many international competitions. She has won three First Place awardss in the world championship in Italy in 2007.

Iuliia loves to be creative and see people enjoying her class.

  • Ballet Barre
  • CLASS DESCRIPTION
    This increasingly popular exercise regime incorporates the precision of Pilates with the positions, moves, grace and technique of ballet. Add to this the alignment of yoga and the strength from sports conditioning and you will have all of the aspects of a typical Barre workout. The combined elements of the different methods fuse to form a challenging and exciting workout, which stretches and sculpts the muscles, whilst burning fat. Balance, strength, stamina, power, flexibility and motor control all improve. This workout produces dramatic results that sculpt and redefine the entire body, without even being a dancer.

    The result is a body that is realigned, rebalanced and works harmoniously and efficiently. This workout is suitable for every-body as various adaptations are given throughout the class to suit the abilities of all students.

    WHAT TO WEAR
    - Just like for yoga, comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely with no restriction are recommended.
    - This class is mostly done bare foot, however students can wear dance shoes or specially designed ballet barre grip socks available at most dance outfitters.

     
    WHAT TO BRING
    - Please bring water and a sweat towel if you would like. 
    - Due to some exercises that take place on the floor, a yoga or fitness mat is recommended for safety.

    CLASS LEVEL
    This class is open to every level of practitioner from beginners on up. Our instructors give careful guidance to ensure that everyone is comfortable in the foundation of the posture, and modifications to increase or decrease the intensity of each position will be available. Feel free to ask for modifications. This class is open to both men and women of any age and physical ability.

  • Dance'N'Shape! Zumba Style Workout
  • CLASS DESCRIPTION
    A fun way to improve your physical fitness with dance moves from different kinds of styles, mostly varying from salsa, merengue, dancehall and hip hop. Mandatory in the classes is: shake your bum and have lots of fun! The dance level varies from easy to challenging steps, so anyone can join.
    This class is taught in English, please ask your teacher is you need any help understanding!

    Une manière amusante d'améliorer votre forme physique avec des mouvements de danse de plusieurs styles (salsa, merengue, hip hop). Les pas varient de facile à plus difficile pour ouvrir le cours à tout le monde. Sans tapis de yoga, avec vos chaussures et une bouteille d'eau, venez découvrir le Zumba!

    - This class will require you to wear trainers/sports shoes. - Please wear comfortable clothes that don't restrict your movement.

    Can be adapted to all levels from beginner to advanced, so every interested individual is welcome at all classes. The instructor will demonstrate all exercises in detail and give different options for participants of different levels.

  • CLASS DESCRIPTION
    Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. The blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress, and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity.

    These classes are guaranteed to strengthen your abs, burn fat and sculpt your body!
    This class is taught in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

    Le Pilates est une pratique qui renforce le corps entier, sans trop travailler une partie ni oublier une autre. Le mélange d'exercises de force et de souplesse améliore la posture, réduit le stresse et sculpte les muscles. Le cours est en anglais mais n'hésitez pas à demander des précisions si vous ne comprenez pas. Prenez votre tapis de yoga ou une serviette, une bouteille d'eau. Ce cours est pratiqué pieds nus et il est ouverts à tous.

    Mats can be delivered to our classes in the locations in 75001 (St. Roch) and 75009 (Studio Bleu). Once ordered, email support@affordableyogafitness.com, and let us know during which class and at which location you would like to pick up your mat. Please bring your receipt to the class. In some cases a few days notice may be needed to make sure the mat is at the class, so we appreciate your patience if and when this happens.
