Benjamin Hart

Benjamin is a Texas-Born World-Resident with a life-long relationship to movement and energy. A student of theater, dance, and gymnastics since the age of four, his yoga practice initially blossomed in the sand and sun of Barcelona where his ‘Beach Bikram’ classes took off.  Having lived in Los Angeles and New York City, Benjamin gainined his RYT 200hr Yoga Teacher certificate in Dallas, and came straight to Paris following Love and Life's Adventures. 

For Benjamin, yoga is truly a practice of Union with ourselves, with each other, and with the Divine, resonant in All. His classes utilize the flowing pace of traditional Vinyasa technique with an infusion of his studies as a modern day Urban Shaman focusing on the inner journey, energy harmonization, and intentional manifestation. Beginners will love his accessible approach while experienced yogis are certainly in for something refreshing and new.

The format for Benjamin’s classes has been well-described as ‘Rainbow Yoga’, meaning that the seven Chakra energy centers within each of our bodies are the foundation and focus of his series. These resonating energetic vortexes are paired with appropriate traditional yoga postures to awaken and purify the physical as well as energy bodies. The seven Elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Sound, Light and Thought are also incorporated for a joyful time of self-healing, counterbalance, and exploration of the infinite Here and Now.

While it may sound different from the standard class structure, students find Benjamin’s offering as a delightful addition to their regular yoga practice and an excellent opportunity to expand their daily routine.

Atie Julie

Atie is from Indonesia and claims that she is still pure Indonesian even after living in Tokyo, New York and now Paris. She earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification and Level 1 Restorative certification from Yogaworks in New York. Following her loving husband, she arrived in Paris in November of 2015.

Her personal fitness regime includes dance classes, CrossFit, and weight lifting. However, yoga is her passion and stable foundation wherever she happens to be living. According to Atie her experience in yoga brings enlightenment and liberation for her being, and her practice is the ultimate journey to herself: body, mind and soul.

She has taught corporate/group classes as well as private clients in New York and Jakarta. Her style when guiding Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga classes is energizing, challenging, and playful and at the same time calming and nurturing. She believes that a smile is as important as the breath. "Yoga is for everybody and every body", and she encourages students not hesitate to ask her about postures and their modifications.

Her exploration of Yoga extends to other styles such as Iyengar, Dharma Yoga and Ashtanga. Patanjali's "Yoga Sutras" is the book of choice that she is always returning to, and that she brings with her wherever she travels.

As happy as she is in all of her other fitness endeavors she is on the lookout for a Badminton partner, so get in touch with her if you would like to play! 

Susie Crane

Susie is from Aberdeenshire, Scotland and first came to Paris 5 years ago to visit friends and
fell in love with the city. After visiting on numerous occasions her husband, Mick, was
offered the opportunity to relocate and the rest is history.

She has a vast experience and knowledge in all aspects of fitness, initially training in Aerobic Dance and Gymnasium Instruction, before moving on to the Mind/Body disciplines of Chi Ball, Pilates and Yoga, gaining the Pilates Institute of London certificate in 2005 and completing CYS 200 hour certificate in Yoga in 2006.

She has a particular interest in seasonal Yoga and working within the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to gain equilibrium in both mind and body.

Susie aims to make everyone feel welcome in class and encourages people of all abilities to fulfill their fitness goals. Her classes are structured with lots of options, so whether you are a beginner or more advanced student, the class will be suitable for you.

Susie instructs the following:  Pilates and Core Fusion - 60mins
The aim of this class is to strengthen the core muscles which support the abdominals and lower back as well as create strength and flexibility throughout the body. The focus is on creating good body posture and gaining a long, lean look to the muscles. All levels are welcome, so do not be afraid to come along and try.   It's fun!!
CLASS DESCRIPTION
This Hatha Flow class will focus on the breath, proper alignment of postures, and simple, yet dynamic transitions to strengthen the physical body and calm the mind. Intensely focused postures with modifications for every level, and a deeply relaxing cool-down will be offered. This class could be considered the merging point between the traditional Hatha (static) and Vinyasa (fluid) offerings.
This class is held in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.

Dans les cours de Hatha Flow, on se concentre sur la respiration et l'alignement avec des transitions simples mais dynamiques pour renforcer le corps et calmer l'esprit. Ce style est entre le Hatha (statique) et le Vinyasa (dynamique). Ouvert à tous avec une profonde relaxation à la fin. Prenez votre tapis de yoga ou une serviette. Le cours est pratiqué pieds nus.

WHAT TO WEAR
-Comfortable clothes that don't restrict movement
-This class is generally practiced barefoot

*Showers and designated changing facilities available only at Studio Bleu in 75009; all other indoor locations have restroom facilities available for changing.

-Mat or towel (there are no mats available to borrow in the spaces)

Mats can be delivered to our classes in the locations in 75001 (St. Roch) and 75009 (Studio Bleu). Once ordered, email support@affordableyogafitness.com, and let us know during which class and at which location you would like to pick up your mat. Please bring your receipt to the class. In some cases a few days notice may be needed to make sure the mat is at the class, so we appreciate your patience if and when this happens.

CLASS LEVEL
This class is open to every level of practitioner from beginners on up. Our instructors give careful guidance to ensure that everyone is comfortable in the foundation of the posture, and modifications to increase or decrease the intensity of each position will be available. Feel free to ask for modifications.

Since our teachers will be busy checking in students with their personal smartphones starting 15 minutes before class, please send a text as opposed to calling as they will most likely not be able to take a call. No communication will be possible after the start time of class.

HEALTH SCREENING
Please notify your instructor if you have undergone any recent surgeries or are currently experiencing any physical injuries. While yoga has many very beneficial health effects, we want to know how to best work with each of our student’s individual restrictions. Please consult a doctor if you have any personal concerns about practicing yoga.
