Vinyasa Flow Yoga - 60min

This class is taught by:

Atie Julie

Atie is from Indonesia and claims that she is still pure Indonesian even after living in Tokyo, New York and now Paris. She earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification and Level 1 Restorative certification from Yogaworks in New York. Following her loving husband, she arrived in Paris in November of 2015.

Her personal fitness regime includes dance classes, CrossFit, and weight lifting. However, yoga is her passion and stable foundation wherever she happens to be living. According to Atie her experience in yoga brings enlightenment and liberation for her being, and her practice is the ultimate journey to herself: body, mind and soul.

She has taught corporate/group classes as well as private clients in New York and Jakarta. Her style when guiding Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga classes is energizing, challenging, and playful and at the same time calming and nurturing. She believes that a smile is as important as the breath. "Yoga is for everybody and every body", and she encourages students not hesitate to ask her about postures and their modifications.

Her exploration of Yoga extends to other styles such as Iyengar, Dharma Yoga and Ashtanga. Patanjali's "Yoga Sutras" is the book of choice that she is always returning to, and that she brings with her wherever she travels.

As happy as she is in all of her other fitness endeavors she is on the lookout for a Badminton partner, so get in touch with her if you would like to play!

Gillian Grant

Gillian is an American living in Paris for over a decade. Yoga became a major part of her life after giving birth to her son 10 years ago. Her practice has helped to maintain balance in her personal and professional life. Teaching for Gillian is a way to help others also find balance in the often hectic urban environment.

Also, as a student of Ayurvedic medicine, Gillian finds much joy in working with homeopathy as an alternative way of healing that is complementary to modern medicine. As a Reiki master, she has practiced the healing arts through touch and the redirection of energy in the body.

Gillian completed her Yoga training (200 RYT) at the Sivananda Ashram in Orleans, France. The Sivananda style is very traditional Hatha with a major focus on meditation and spirituality. Hatha is a slow and steady practice that helps build a strong body and mind while focusing on the breath and energy centers of the body. Gillian completed her Kundalini Yoga training with 3HO, the association formed by the Guru Yogi Bhajan to bring the practice of Kundalini to the West. Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness. It is a dynamic, powerful tool that is designed to give you an experience of your soul.

Benjamin Hart

Benjamin is a Texas-Born World-Resident with a life-long relationship to movement and energy. A student of theater, dance, and gymnastics since the age of four, his yoga practice initially blossomed in the sand and sun of Barcelona where his ‘Beach Bikram’ classes took off.  Having lived in Los Angeles and New York City, Benjamin gainined his RYT 200hr Yoga Teacher certificate in Dallas, and came straight to Paris following Love and Life's Adventures.

For Benjamin, yoga is truly a practice of Union with ourselves, with each other, and with the Divine, resonant in All. His classes utilize the flowing pace of traditional Vinyasa technique with an infusion of his studies as a modern day Urban Shaman focusing on the inner journey, energy harmonization, and intentional manifestation. Beginners will love his accessible approach while experienced yogis are certainly in for something refreshing and new.

The format for Benjamin’s classes has been well-described as ‘Rainbow Yoga’, meaning that the seven Chakra energy centers within each of our bodies are the foundation and focus of his series. These resonating energetic vortexes are paired with appropriate traditional yoga postures to awaken and purify the physical as well as energy bodies. The seven Elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Sound, Light and Thought are also incorporated for a joyful time of self-healing, counterbalance, and exploration of the infinite Here and Now.

While it may sound different from the standard class structure, students find Benjamin’s offering as a delightful addition to their regular yoga practice and an excellent opportunity to expand their daily routine.

Yun Ng

Yun loves all kinds of movement. She dedicates most of her time to practicing and teaching yoga and meditation, then the rest to pilates, barre method and many other types of expressive, intelligent movement. Yun also enjoys cooking up new salad recipes, blending smoothies and taking very long walks in nature.

She loves the practice of yoga simply because you can start wherever you are. It does not matter what injuries one has, how much one can bring hands to touch the toes or how many handstands one can do in a minute. As long as you want to, you can, but with adequate lessons and attention. With 6 years of yoga teaching and 11 years of mat practice, she is extremely humbled to guide yogis in Paris through the knowledge she has received from her teachers over the years.

Her influence includes teachings from the Anusara method, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Jivamukti and AcroYoga.

Yun does not currently teach any regular classes with us.

Louise Cutler

French speaking
Louise is originally from England, where she grew up in beautiful Cornwall. In 2001 she moved over to Brittany and in 2009 Louise moved to Paris for her job as store manager in an organic Naturalia shop. After leaving this stressful and exhausting job, Louise decided to stay and teach yoga in Paris.

Louise is a huge fan of cooking and eating! As a vegetarian, she combines flavours, spices and origines to create a colourful, healthy, international fusion.
She loves to travel, to meet new people, discover places, ideas, and collecting recipes where ever she goes.

Louise followed an intensive 200h classical yoga teacher training in Spain in 2013. This is where she learned the basics of alignment and asana, aswell as breathing and relaxation techniques and meditation.
In 2015, Louise followed one of her inspiring teachers in a ten week ayurveda course, the Dinacharya, where she discovered the basics of ayurveda and how to bring it into everyday life to live a more peaceful, happy and healthy life.  She has also studied crystal healing, Korean relaxation massage and Reiki.

In her own practice, Louise enjoys the natural mix of subtle and dynamic movement. Being on her mat and listening to her body and practicing what it asks for. She especially loves the energy created in a slow, mindful, expansive flow which balances both the body, the mind and the more subtle elements of the self.
As much as possible Louise moves from the heart when on the mat, she also reminds herself regularly to smile and have fun !
In the past few years, breath work and mantra have eased themselves into her practice, as well as self massage and gratitude.

Louise's classes are light hearted with a positive and optimistic vibe. She encourages students to listen to their body, to feel their breath and to relax into each posture.
In each class Louise focuses on alignment, grounding and expanding.   Falling over, cracking joints and laughter are all welcome in her classes which begin with intention and finish in gratitude.

The purpose of a Vinyasa class is to link the traditional yoga asanas / postures together into a harmonious flow of transitioning positions while giving focus to active meditation. This could be considered a more 'active' class than our Hatha offerings.  It is dynamic yet soft in nature, and relaxation is often reserved to the end of the session. The sequence of postures will vary from class to class, building on the fluid transitions of core asanas to develop strength, flexibility, balance and focus.
This class is in English, most of our teachers do speak some French, don't hesitate to ask for help understanding.
